Bolton are believed to be determined to sign Goran Popov on loan from West Bromwich Albion.
The 29-year old Macedonian defender is on loan with the Baggies from Dynamo Kiev but has made just two Premier League appearances this season.
The Trotters were after Popov in the January transfer window and although they failed in their bid to bring him to the Reebok Stadium, it is believed that Bolton boss Dougie Freedman is still holding hope.
Reports suggest that Popov could still head to the Championship club if Bolton and West Brom can influence the Football Association the loan agreement.
