LOAN PERFORMER OF THE WEEK: Liverpool signing Grujic fires Red Star brace

Liverpool starlet Marko Grujic netted a brace to help Red Star Belgrade defeat Lithuanian minnows Atlantis 2-1 in a mid-season friendly on the weekend.

The 19-year-old became Jurgen Klopp's first signing for the Reds, moving to Anfield from Red Star in a £5.1million move at the start of the January transfer window.

To further his development, Grujic was loaned straight back to Red Star to allow him to continue playing first team football.

Liverpool have been in dismal form as of late, highlighted by a walkout conducted by fans during their 2-2 draw with Sunderland at home on Saturday. It is hard for Liverpool fans not to feel frustrated, especially when talents like Grujic are finding the back of the net for other clubs.

The Serbian Under 21 international, despite playing in centre midfield, scored his first goal in typical poacher's fashion.

Grujic's second came through an intelligent run from midfield where he latched onto a pass and calmly slotted home.

Liverpool fans will be glad to see the exciting talent that Grujic possess flourish but at the same time, they will also be left frustrated that it is not happening in front of their eyes at Anfield.
