Livingston striker trials with West Brom

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray is still deciding whether to pursue his initial interest in Livingston's teenage striker Leigh Griffiths. The 18-year-old has just returned to his club after completing a trial period with the Baggies.

Mowbray confirmed: "The relationship between the two clubs has allowed Leigh to come down here to West Brom for a few days.

"We got in Graham Dorrans from Livingston last summer and he has been showing that he has the potential to be a decent footballer.

"Leigh is a young boy with potential. He has got something like 17 or 18 goals in 23 games and he has come down and trained with us.

"After discussions, we will see if we take it any further but basically he is a boy, 18, who wouldn't be coming to go straight into our first team squad.

"If we did decide to do anything, he would be a young player to compete with other young players at our club. We will wait and see if we pursue it."
