Liverpool winger Ben Woodburn faces up to three months out at loan club Oxford United.
The Wales international was injured at the weekend in the 2-2 draw with Accrington Stanley and initial reports seem to suggest the 19-year-old has suffered a broken foot.
United boss Karl Robinson speaking after the game said: “Woody's seeing a specialist tomorrow and the worst-case scenario would be three months, but it could be a lot less than that.
“I think it's the fifth metatarsal that he's fractured.
“He was the catalyst to a lot of our good play this season. If you look over recent weeks we didn't have him at Fleetwood and we looked way below par.
“He came off on Saturday and we looked a little bit below par, so it's a big loss."
