Liverpool willing to hand Sturridge new £140,000-a-week deal

Liverpool are ready to hand Danny Sturridge a bumper pay hike.

The People says Luis Suarez's £200,000-a-week pay packet dwarfs his fellow striker's £70,000-a-week and Kop chief Brendan Rodgers wants the England hitman closer to parity.

Ex-Chelsea star Sturridge took a pay cut to move to Anfield from Stamford Bridge, but his form since his arrival has been sensational and he is a certainty for England's World Cup squad.

Now Sturridge - who scored in yesterday's 6-3 win at Cardiff, with Suarez getting a hat-trick - will see his wages double to £140,000-a-week.
