Liverpool hope to take advantage of uncertainty surrounding Jules Kounde this summer.

The French centre half is said to be considering his future at Barcelona as the season concludes.

Kounde is unhappy at being played at right-back all season and wants to play in central defense.

However, taking to Twitter, he said: "To make it clear, at no time did I ask to leave, and I'm not going anywhere." That statement has done nothing to quell rumors of an exit.

Per El Nacional, Liverpool are serious about Kounde and would make an offer as soon as he becomes available.

Whether his public statement is the end of the matter, or if there is a chance at a deal, is another matter.
