Liverpool will not seek to extend Divock Origi's contract, it has been revealed.
Liverpool have no intention of offering Origi a new contract at the end of the season, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Origi, who despite only being part of the supporting cast in Liverpool's front line, has earned hero status for scoring important goals in big matches including a Champions League-winning goal, has been in talks with AC Milan about a move to Serie A next season and a deal appears to moving closer. Still only 26, Origi can make the switch to the San Siro for free when his contract expires.
Posting on Twitter, Romano said: “More on Divock Origi. Liverpool have no plans to extend his contract and he wants to try a new challenge. AC Milan are confident to complete the agreement soon. Talks are progressing with his agents, final details to be discussed in the next (few) days."
