Liverpool WILL challenge Real Madrid for PSG striker Mbappe this summer

Liverpool will challenge Real Madrid for PSG striker Kylian Mbappe this summer.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is planning a major clearout to help fund a move for Mbappe at the end of this season. But he'll face competition from Liverpool, where manager Jurgen Klopp enjoys a good relationship with the Mbappe family.

And it's emerging this week that Klopp's style of play and team planning has given Mbappe pause for thought, despite his admiration for Real coach Zinedine Zidane.

Off contract in 2022, Mbappe admitted this week his treatment by the local press could force him out of Ligue 1.

He said, "After a while, of course criticism gets tiring, especially when you play for a team from your country and you give everything for your team too. In the end all this tires.

"It is different to play for France for those who come from abroad. I am here all the time, playing for PSG and with the French national team. It's a different context and I knew it when I signed for PSG. We will see later.

"If this can influence my decision to stay at PSG in the summer? Of course. But it's not just that. The most important thing is to feel good where you are and have fun every day."
