Liverpool are closely monitoring Sassuolo attacker Gregoire Defrel, according to reports from The Sun.

Defrel has been creating waves in Italy this season after scoring five goals in his last six matches and as a result, the Sassuolo attacker has been able to attract the interest from a number of clubs across Europe.

Now according to reports emerging out of England, claims have been made that the Reds are among the clubs interested in signing Defrel and could make their move during the upcoming January transfer window.

Frenchman Defrel, 25, joined Sassuolo from Cesena last summer and has netted 12 goals in 42 outings for the Modena outfit.
