Liverpool face having to pay well over their assessment to land Norwich City defender Jamal Lewis.
The Telegraph says Liverpool will need to pay at least double their £10million valuation of Lewis.
The club rejected a £12million bid for Lewis from Crystal Palace in January and are said to be determined to only do business on their terms, despite suffering relegation to the Championship.
Lewis played regularly for Daniel Farke's side last season, making 33 appearances in all competitions and is expected to attract more offers from other clubs.
Norwich have experience in holding out for big transfer fees. They sold James Maddison to Leicester for £24million in 2018 and are likely to immediately turn down any offers of £10million.
