Liverpool waiting to pounce for West Ham contract rebel Reid

West Ham United defender Winston Reid is facing crunch time over his career.

The Daily Star Sunday says with Reid's contract running out in the summer, West Ham are hoping he will agree to stay rather than losing him for free in the close season.

They may choose to offload Reid in the January window - with Arsenal his likely destination - despite co-owner David Gold insisting he wants him to stay.

Manager Sam Allardyce said: "It's still an on-going situation between the owner and his agent in negotiation terms.

"I would imagine that somewhere along the line one or both are going to come to the conclusion it has gone as far as it's going to go and it can't go any farther.

"And the decision is that Winston is either staying or he's not."
