Liverpool view Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele as a backup option this summer.

Mundo Deportivo says Liverpool are weighing up an offer for Dembele after cooling their interest in RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

The France international - who has been sidelined after undergoing surgery on his hamstring - is wanted by the Reds after falling out of favour at Camp Nou.

The Merseyside outfit reportedly withdrew their interest in Werner after failing to agree on a fee for the Germany international.

It remains to be seen whether Dembele would be available for a lower price, however, than the £53m quoted by Leipzig for Werner.
