Liverpool veteran James Milner is keen to avoid Wednesday's Manchester derby.

Manchester City need to defeat Manchester United to return to the top of the table.

“It will be the first time in my life," Milner said when asked if he will be a United fan for the night.

“I don't watch them, to be honest," he said. “It's a bit of a waste of energy, isn't it, willing the ball into the goal and things like that.

"I can't do anything about it. Maybe I'll put my phone away for a few hours and check it after. Maybe I'll go and grab some food or whatever."
