LIVERPOOL v WEST BROM RECAP: Reds grab late leveller to hold Baggies

Liverpool fought back from a goal down after taking the lead to draw 2-2 with West Bromwich Albion at Anfield on Sunday.

The Reds went ahead in the 21st minute when captain Jordan Henderson, making his first Premier League start since August, swept home Adam Lallana's knockdown header from Philippe Coutinho's pinpoint delivery.

Albion levelled on the half-hour mark when Craig Dawson fired home from close range after Simon Mignolet failed to clear Chris Brunt's corner.

Tony Pulis' side were then denied on the stroke of half-time when Jonas Olsson tucked home Craig Gardner's free-kick but after some confusion, the goal was disallowed for offside.

However, the Swedish defender did manage to get his name on the scoresheet when he glanced home Brunt's 73rd-minute corner with a deft header but the Reds were able to find an equaliser deep into injury-time.

Divock Origi raced at the Baggies defence before unleashing a goal-bound effort which took a wicked deflection to completely wrong-foot Boaz Myhill, giving Jurgen Klopp's men a share of the points.

The result, their third draw in a row, sees Albion remain in 13th place as Liverpool dropped to ninth following a second winless outing on the trot.

TALKING POINTS

- Liverpool struggling to find consistency now after a strong start under Klopp. Do they need further quality in January?

- West Brom not in bad form but just cannot find a way to win. Does Pulis require further attacking options in the winter window?

WHAT'S NEXT?

Liverpool will be keen to return to the winners' list when they head to in-form Watford on Sunday as West Brom proper to host giant-killers Bournemouth on Saturday.

QUOTES CORNER

Liverpool's Klopp on the buzzing atmosphere at Anfueld:

"It was the best atmosphere since I've been here, I enjoyed the atmosphere with my whole body. I want to say 'thank you'."

West Brom boss Pulis on the disallowed goal:

"The big disappointment is the linesman never put his flag up.
