Liverpool U21 coach Lewtas pleased with Beck, Hill for victory over Blackburn

Liverpool U21 coach Barry Lewtas has welcomed fullback Owen Beck back from his loan with Bolton Wanderers.

Beck featured in the Prem 2 win against Blackburn Rovers.

Lewtas said, "Loan experiences are exactly that – they are experiences. Owen obviously really took the plunge and went to a different country in Portugal, which is definitely something to be commended, stepping out of your comfort zone. Things didn't quite work out but then he went to Bolton Wanderers, who are in a fantastic run. Sometimes things don't kind of pan out the way you want them to go but he has learned an awful lot both as a person and as a player.

"He has come back with us and he has carried on where he left off for us – being a real threat at left-back and doing ever so well."

The match also marked a return from long-term injury of winger Tom Hill.

Lewtas also told liverpoolfc.com, "Tom has been working really hard and it was great to see him out on the pitch again. He was desperate to put the kit back on and get out and play, so the plan was to give him some minutes. It was really pleasing for him to get on because he has worked ever so hard. The reality is he has had really rotten luck, so hopefully – and there are still plenty of games left – Tom can play a big part for us between now and the end of the season."
