Liverpool U18 coach Steven Gerrard was delighted with their victory over Blackburn Rovers.
The result marked Gerrard's first win in management.
“The final minutes were a bit edgy, a bit nervous, but we've only got ourselves to blame for that," Gerrard told the Liverpool Echo.
“We could have had three or four in the first half and I told the players against better opposition we'll be punished for that.
“We need to have a bit more quality in the final third and defensively we need to have a look at the second half. We've got a few players playing out of position in the back line, we get that.
“We'll look at the negatives from the second half because in the first half it was really, really positive.
“Pleased with the win, very pleased with the first half, but still a lot to work to do looking at the second half performance."
