Liverpool transfers director drops Man Utd hint for Kane; Mbappe affordability

Departing Liverpool transfers director Ian Graham can see Harry Kane leaving Tottenham for Manchester United.

Graham is a data analyst and was asked about Kane's future at the Cheltenham Festival.

He told the Guardian he would join “a club that doesn't care about value for money". Adding: “He's 29. It's going to be a high transfer fee for three years of performance that might start declining.

“From a data point of view, it's magnificent the way Alex Ferguson constructed a team that was ageing just as he left [Manchester United]. It really did cement his legacy."

Graham also declared PSG striker Kylian Mbappe the best player in Europe, according to statistical models, but added "unfortunately, financially, out of Liverpool's league".
