Liverpool are expected to save roughly £1.5 million by letting Lazar Markovic leave on a free.

The Serbian left after four and a half years at the Anfield club, joining Fulham on a free transfer.

And that will ensure the club saves money on the salary he would have earned for the rest of the season, per the Evening Standard.

Markovic had not played for the Reds since May 2015.

Now he will be hoping that he can show his quality at Fulham, as they attempt to avoid relegation to the Championship.
