Liverpool to hand Karius new deal before long-term Besiktas loan

Liverpool are to hand Loris Karius a new contract before sending him on-loan to Besiktas.

The Mirror says Besiktas have agreed a deal to sign the keeper on a two year loan deal – with an option to buy - which will be completed this week.

Liverpool have accepted an offer which will see them receive a £2.25m loan fee, and an extra £7.25m if the move is made permanent at any time.

The keeper though, will actually sign a one year extension to his current Reds contract, which means Liverpool are protected in terms of contract length - and the ability to secure a fee - if he doesn't sign permanent deal at the end of the two year loan with Besiktas.

Klopp will allow only one keeper to leave before the end of the month, and that means Simon Mignolet will now stay – even though he was also seeking a transfer – to become number two to Alisson for the season.
