Video game developer Konami, the team behind the popular Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) series of games, has announced a new partnership with Liverpool, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

The agreement sees Konami become an official global partner of the club.

According to the company's senior director of brand and business development, Jonas Lygard, the deal gives Konami "unrivalled access" to Liverpool's players and facilities, including their famous Anfield stadium.

Konami will work with Liverpool "to ensure their players are brought to life in our products, and will also work together in future promotional partnerships as well," said Lygard.

As well as accurate representations of Liverpool players, kits and facilities, Liverpool's team anthem, 'You'll Never Walk Alone', will also feature in the upcoming PES 17 game.

Billy Hogan, chief commercial officer at Liverpool, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Konami, whose attention to detail will make sure that Liverpool FC is well represented and will help us to continue to engage with our fans in new and exciting ways."
