Pepe Reina's father has played down suggestions of a possible shock Liverpool return for his son.

The 33-year-old Spanish goalkeeper was this week linked with a sensational Anfield comeback as reports of Jurgen Klopp's interest in the Napoli number one emerged.

There has also been speculation regarding a move back to another former club, Barcelona, but Miguel Reina was having none of it.

"We do not talk about the market in the family, we are not aware of the interest of Barcelona or other teams," he told Italian publication Corriere dello Sport.

"Liverpool? There is nothing, just rumours. The great affection that Pepe has for the Napoli is known."
