Liverpool striker Diogo Jota says he's in the best moment of his career after his brace for Portugal.
Jota, standing in for Cristiano Ronaldo, struck twice in Portugal's Nations League qualifying defeat of Sweden.
He said afterwards, "The coach chooses eleven for each game under the circumstances, I did my best on the field. Pressure to replace Ronaldo? No, we are professionals and, if the mister chooses eleven players to enter the field, these are the ones who have to work.
"Yes, I think it is my highest moment, [moving to Liverpool] was a big step forward in my career, today I started again in the national team, I have to do my best."
Asked if he will be forced to quarantine on his return to England due to Ronaldo's positive coronavirus test - despite the Juventus star showing zero symptoms - Jota replied: "I don't know anything, I know I have training tomorrow [Thursday] and that's what I'm going to do."
Liverpool face top of the table Everton this weekend.
