Liverpool striker Divock Origi 'enjoying' new wide role

Liverpool striker Divock Origi has no problem playing as a winger if it gets him a game.

The winner against Everton in the Merseyside derby put himself back into the good graces of Jurgen Klopp.

The Belgian also played 90 minutes against the Toffees in the return fixture last month, after scoring against Watford in a 5-0 win.

He then managed 20 minutes last week for the Reds in their hard-fought 2-1 win over Fulham.

And Origi has found that his new role on the wing suits him just as well.

“I loved that role. Even in the youth teams, I used to play up front and on the wing so I'm comfortable in both positions," he told the official Liverpool magazine.

“People have maybe seen me more up front in the last couple of years but I totally love it on the wing as well.

“It is a squad game and, like I have always said, I try to shine my light whenever I get my opportunity.

“I enjoyed linking up with Sadio and Mo [against Watford] but of course they are top players which makes it easier for me and I think it was just about having fun."
