Liverpool are prepared to let the hunt for a new sleeve sponsor go past the start of the 2020/21 Premier League season, according to the Evening Standard, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
The club's UK£5 million (US$5.5 million) a year deal with Western Union has been cut short from its originally reported five-year length, with the financial services firm confirming the contract had fallen foul of a review of its sponsorships.
The company said in a statement: 'Western Union's sponsorship of Liverpool Football Club has been very successful for both our business and our brand and we are very proud of what we and the club have achieved over the last three seasons.
'However, we evaluate all of our activity, including sponsorships, on a regular basis, and as our business and brand needs and objectives continue to evolve, we have made the decision not to continue with the Liverpool Football Club sponsorship beyond the end of this season.'
