Jordan Henderson says Liverpool's Carabao Cup triumph was made even more special by the fact over 30 players contributed across the tournament.

Jurgen Klopp called on his fringe and academy players throughout the Carabao Cup, which culminated in a penalty shootout win over Chelsea in the final.

"That's really pleasing as well," he told Sky Sports post-match. "We've used all the squad from the start of the competition – the first team and Academy have all chipped in, which makes it even more special really.

"It's very special to win trophies for this football club, no matter what the competition.

"It was a great opportunity for us and thankfully we're on the right side of it. It's always difficult when it goes to penalties, it's never nice, but I thought the lads overall deserved to win."
