Liverpool signing Ibrahima Konate has posted a farewell message to RB Leipzig.

Konate will officially become a Liverpool player on July 1, where he will then link up with the rest of the squad and Jurgen Klopp for the first time during pre-season.

The defender's move to Liverpool ends his four-year stay at Leipzig, who he joined from French club Sochaux in 2017.

He went on to make 90 appearances for Leipzig, and become one of the brightest talents across Europe.

He said on social media: "Thank you to my @dierotenbullen family!

“Four incredible years at this club! I have grown as a player and as a man and will carry special friendships and memories from my time here for the rest of my life.

“I will miss playing in front of the fans in Leipzig, it's a special place to play football and it has been so important for my development to play here.

“A special thank you to all my coaches, the club employees, my teammates and the fans for always supporting me and helping me reach this moment."
