Liverpool senior players full of praise for Morton on Champions League debut

Liverpool's senior players were impressed by Tyler Morton in their Champions League win against Porto.

The holding midfielder, 19, made his Champions League debut against the Portuguese side and has been lauded by many within the club for his efforts.

"He did exceptionally well," manager Jurgen Klopp told BT Sport. "He's a good player. I'm really pleased for him that he could put in a performance like this."

Fellow midfielder Thiago added: "Some players who don't usually play played an amazing game. That's why we are very happy because we still have ambitious football and this hunger that we have.

"I love to train and play alongside young players, who have this hunger at the start of their careers and to give some teaching words to them to help make them brighter and better.

"We're happy with Tyler. He's a marvellous player. He's been training with us and deserved to be part of the team tonight.

"He did an amazing game as well and I think he will have a great career here at Liverpool and in football in general. We are happy to have him and it was a fantastic to play with him tonight."

His efforts didn't go unnoticed by his skipper Henderson, who tweeted after the game: "Not a bad week! Congrats Tyler Morton."
