Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers aims to sign FC Koln goalkeeper Timo Horn as a replacement for Brad Jones.
The Daily Star says Jones is deemed not up to standard and Liverpool have been to watch Cologne's Timo Horn.
Horn, 21, is the imposing 6ft 4in Germany Under-21 keeper.
But he lacks experience and Rodgers wants an experienced head to fight with Simon Mignolet for his place.
