Liverpool scrap plans to visit Scandinavia

Liverpool have scrapped plans to visit Scandinavia in the summer.

Like most major clubs in Europe, the Reds have spent recent summers participating in a lucrative pre-season tour by travelling around the world.

With Euro2020 and Copa America planned for this summer, the tours would have consisted mainly of non-international and academy players.

This has lead to the Merseyside club revising their plans to keep their pre-season within Europe.

However, the Scandinavian leg of the tour has now been scrapped, according to the London Evening Standard.

A training camp in the in the French resort of Evian-les-Bains booked for July will also be scrapped.

Reports have claimed the Premier League are looking at finishing the 2019/20 season behind closed doors, with games currently suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

It is unclear whether Jurgen Klopp will follow the same plan next year when Copa America and the European Championships are set to take place.
