Liverpool's South American chief scout Fernando Troiani has confirmed interest in Gremio star Luan.
However, he insists there's been no offer made by Liverpool for the gold medalist.
On deadline day, Troiani stated: "It is widely known that the press is reporting, without any support, that Liverpool are interested, and we've made a proposal (for Luan).
"We do not know where this invention was created. But I can assure you this is not true.
"We know that the board of Porto Alegre's club has nothing to do with it, and we estimate that the athlete's manager does not either."
Speaking with UOL Esporte, Troiani also confirmed that he'd been watching Luan since his introduction at Gremio, but there were no plans of taking him to the Premier League this season.
