Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers believes Tottenham are heading in the right direction under Tim Sherwood.
Rodgers' Reds got the better of Spurs 4-0 at Anfield on Sunday which added more fuel to the fire that Sherwood could perhaps lose his job at the end of the season.
However, Rodgers is of the belief that Sherwood, who replaced Andre Villas-Boas in December, is the man to lead the north London club forward.
"It was a great performance but Tottenham have some outstanding players," he told Sky Sports after the match.
"They are a great club and I hope Tim gets the time to put some of his ideas in place and if they give him that time I am sure they will do very well."
Tottenham currently sits sixth on the Premier League table having lost three of their past four outings as Liverpool move to the top following a run of eight straight wins.
