Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes Garry Monk will make a very good manager.
The 34-year old defender has taken the reins at the Liberty Stadium following Tuesday's sacking of Michael Laudrup and Rodgers, who had Monk as his skipper during his tenure in south Wales, is confident he will do well.
"He was a wonderful captain for me - very loyal, very generous as a skipper - and I have got every confidence that, in time, he's going to be a manager," Rodgers told BBC Sport.
"Gary is going to be a very good manager."
Monk will oversee his first game in charge of the Swans in Saturday's Welsh derby with Cardiff City.
