Liverpool are emerging as competition for the likes of Bayern Munich and Juventus for Real Madrid star Marco Asensio.

The attacking midfielder, who can also play on the wings, has played a key role for Spain at the World Cup so far.

While Asensio is not a regular at Real, he is important to Spain boss Luis Enrique.

Per The Mirror, Liverpool are long-term admirers of Asensio and will make a move for him in January.

However, they add that Bayern and Juve are also interested, and will look to secure his signature.

Asensio may move for a modest fee in January, or he may sign a pre-contract to move on a free transfer in the summer.
