Liverpool are closing in on a deal for Aston Villa fullback Stephen Warnock.
The Mirror says manager Kenny Dalglish has bombed out Roy Hodgson-signing Paul Konchesky and wants former Red Warnock to slot in to the left side of his defence.
Dalglish would like to sign the England international on loan from Aston Villa with a view to a permanent move in the summer.
However the move hinges on Villa boss Gerard Houllier and how willing he is to do business with his former club.
