Liverpool remain in pursuit of PSG defender Digne

Liverpool are still being linked with Paris Saint-Germain defender Lucas Digne.

According to the Daily Mail, the Reds are continuing their pursuit of the 22-year-old Frenchman despite reports on Tuesday suggesting that Christian Benteke would be their final summer signing.

Belgian striker Benteke ix expected to complete his £32.5million move from Aston Villa on Wednesday but that does not necessarily mean the Anfield club has finished their transfer business.

Brendan Rodgers is believed to still be chasing a quality left-back with just Alberto Moreno and youngster Joe Gomez, who recently joined from Charlton Athletic, his only noted players capable of being deployed in that position.

With Jose Enrique set to leave Merseyside, the vacancy is there for Digne to arrive at Liverpool but the Reds will have to compete with the likes of AS Roma and Atletico Madrid who are also showing interest.
