A major story in an American newspaper has suggested that Liverpool's owners may be looking to sell the club.

There is speculation about the future of the involvement of FSG with Liverpool.

An older report in Forbes has suggested that owner John W. Henry is quietly looking to sell the club for around £1.5 billion.

But Liverpool have refuted the claims in a statement released today

A Liverpool spokesperson said: "As loathed as we are to give a story of this nature a meaningful response, on behalf of the club's ownership I can completely dismiss this unfounded speculation.

"To repeat once again, the club is not for sale, including any 'quiet process' or anything of that nature."
