Liverpool refuse to rush back crocked defender Lovren

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren will not be rushed back from injury.

The Croatian has resumed training after he returned from the World Cup with a pelvis injury. He was pivotal in Croatia's run to the final.

Lovren hoped to be fit before the current international break. But according to the Evening Standard, the 29-year-old might have to until the next one to feature for the Reds.

Liverpool have a tough round of fixtures over the next month. They will face Chelsea, Napoli and Manchester City a week prior to the next international break.

Even if Lovren was fit, he would likely struggle to find a starting spot after Joe Gomez's impressive start to the season alongside Virgil van Dijk.
