Liverpool receive massive boost as Luiz Diaz cleared for Champions League

New singing Luiz Diaz will be able to play for Liverpool in the Champions League knockout stages.

The Colombian winger signed from FC Porto for a massive fee in January, giving the club's incredible attacking depth.

Diaz did play for Porto in the Champions League, but UEFA rule changes mean that players who participated in the group stages for a club can play in the knockouts for another team.

The 25-year-old will have to be added to the club's 25-man squad, and is likely to take Nat Phillips' place in that list.

Diaz is likely to begin as backup to the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, but may have enough quality to force himself into the starting line-up later in the season.
