Xabi Alonso has agreed a deal to become manager of Borussia Mönchengladbach this summer.
The former Liverpool and Bayern Munich midfielder is currently in charge of Real Sociedad's B team.
But Alonso will return to Germany to take the reins at Gladbach in June.
The 39-year-old will replace Marco Rose, who has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund at the end of this season.
Alonso enjoyed a successful playing career with the Reds, Bayern and Real Madrid.
He also won two European Championships and the World Cup with Spain.
