Liverpool have reportedly presented a contract offer to upcoming free agent Iker Muniain.

The attacking midfielder will be out of contract with Athletic Bilbao at the end of the season and can begin speaking with foreign clubs in January.

Athletic are desperate to re-sign Muniain, dubbed the 'Basque Messi', who has made 357 appearances for the club.

According to Marca, Liverpool have already made contact with the 25-year-old over a free transfer in the summer.

Napoli are also reportedly interested in Muniain, who has not ruled out re-signing with his boyhood club.
