Liverpool are ready to pounce for Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen. The Mail on Sunday says the Reds Liverpool lead the queue to sign Jan Vertonghen in the summer.
Vertonghen last week strongly hinted that he will be ready to quit Spurs if Champions League football is not achieved.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has made it plain that to continue on the upward curve, improvements must be made to the Liverpool back four - especially the centre of defence.
