Liverpool are ready to beat Manchester United for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho next summer.

The Independent says with the market shut, Sancho could now move to Liverpool next summer, rather than joining United.

Jurgen Klopp would have moved for the Dortmund star this summer in an ideal world.

But, with the Reds hit hard by the pandemic like many other clubs in the top flight, they were forced to settle for the signing of Diogo Jota instead.

The Borussia Dortmund star was pursued relentlessly by United chiefs Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ed Woodward throughout the transfer window.

But he could now end up at Liverpool if the club's owners have confidence in their finances.
