Liverpool have cooled talk of moving for Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

The Reds parted company with Rafa Camacho on Thursday, with the winger signing for Sporting in a transfer worth £5million.

Liverpool fans hoped that the Camacho deal would boost their chances of signing Fernandes, but it appears to be completely unrelated to the Reds' transfer pursuits, says the Mirror.

Camacho was linked with a host of Premier League clubs after he refused to sign a contract extension at Anfield, but will return to the club where he started his career instead.

It seems Fernandes is not the 'right player' for the Reds, as Liverpool are not interested in signing the Portugal international.
