Liverpool No2 Pep Lijnders has detailed their new transfer policy thanks to the strength of their academy.

There is now a simple strategy that exists within the inner circle of the Reds boss when it comes to recruitment.

“Academy and game-changers, that's where we need to invest," assistant manager Lijnders said, when discussing their transfer market approach. “Not second-line players who take the space for our talents. Diaz and Gordon, or Thiago and Elliott."
