Liverpool are new favourites for Wigan Athletic winger Charles N'Zogbia.
The Mirror says Newcastle have pulled out of the race to sign N'Zogbia because of his £60,000-a-week wage demands.
N'Zogbia will not be short of offers despite Newcastle's withdrawal from the race to sign him and Sunderland and Liverpool remain keen.
The presence of Liverpool's French football director Damien Comolli is expected to see the Reds favoured by N'Zogbia.
