Premier League and Bundesliga clubs are doing battle over Zulte Waregem midfielder Soualiho Meité.

Meite is on-loan at Zulte from Lille this season and is widely regarded as the best performing midfielder in the Jupiler League.

Foot Mercato says four German clubs are in contact with the 22 year-old's minders ahead of the January market. VfL Wolfsburg, Eintracht Frankfurt, Schalke 04 and TSG Hoffenheim are all in talks with agents.

From England, Liverpool are keen, while Stoke City, Everton and Crystal Palace have also registered their interest.

Lille are seeking €6.5 million to sell Meite next month.
