Alex Teixeira is unlikely to join Liverpool in this transfer window after they failed to agree a fee with Shakhtar Donetsk, Sky Sports understand.

Shakhtar wanted at least £35m for a player they consider to be their last remaining valuable asset.

Sky report it is likely the 26 year old will leave in the summer but no deal is in place with Liverpool or any other club at this stage.
