Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum has made a financial contribution to former club Sparta Rotterdam.
Wijnaldum has moved to assist Sparta after seeing the Dutch season abandoned by local government authorities.
The midfielder has followed teammate Virgil van Dijk's lead by buying four season tickets from Sparta and putting them up for auction. Van Dijk did the same for FC Groningen.
"I have bought four season tickets for the coming season," wrote Van Dijk on Twitter. "With this I help FC Groningen during this difficult time. The season tickets will eventually be raffled among FC fans who cannot buy them themselves."
Wijnaldum is now doing exactly the same.
"To Virgil, top action!" wrote the midfielder. "I will follow you and will also do this for fans of Sparta Rotterdam."
