Liverpool midfielder Thiago: Running is not my thing

Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara admits "running is not my thing".

The Spain international has battled with injury during his time at Anfield.

He told Walk On magazine: “When you're in the game, when you're living the game, you just react. You can't think too much, but running is not my thing.

“My thing is to make the team play slow or fast when necessary. For the best players in the world, and I am not capable of that, it is about trying to score 40 goals per season.

“I tell Darwin (Núñez, his Uruguayan teammate at Anfield) that never in my life have I had the feeling of throwing the ball 30 meters in front and saying: 'I'm going to run to get it'.

"Sometimes I feel jealous of who can do that, sure. But that's life, we always want what we don't have."
