Liverpool midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain: It's not about Arsenal revenge

Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain insists there's no animosity towards former club Arsenal.

The midfielder left the Gunners after a six-year spell in 2017, joining Jurgen Klopp's side in an unexpected deal worth £35m.

Although he has gone on to win the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup with the Reds, the 26-year-old maintains that he does not feel that his transfer was vindicated by silverware.

He said: “I wouldn't say I wanted to leave Arsenal because I didn't believe we could win.

“I just didn't believe I was going to be able to play where I wanted to play and that was it.

“Me winning the Champions League was obviously a dream come true and a massive bonus but I didn't feel like 'Ah, I told you so' [at Arsenal]."
